Tri gloss meter is an instrument used to measure the gloss of the surface of an object. The Tri gloss meter is divided into three types according to the angle: 20° high gloss meter, 60° medium gloss meter and 85° low gloss meter. The gloss meter consists of an emitter and a receiver. The emitter consists of a light source and a set of lenses, which generate a certain required luminous flux. The receiver receives the light intensity reflected from the surface of the sample. With reference to the black glass with refractive index np=1.567, the gloss value is 100.0 gloss units as the standard to define.
The temperature compensation function of the Tri gloss meter is literally, many people may not understand what this means. This is because the luminous efficiency of the LED light source will change with the change of the ambient temperature, especially in autumn and winter, the temperature difference between morning and night, and the temperature difference between indoor and outdoor are very large, so when the ambient temperature of the gloss meter changes , the instrument will automatically adjust the luminous effect of the light source according to the ambient temperature, so that the test data will not be wrong. Simply put, after the instrument is calibrated at a fixed ambient temperature, when the temperature increases or decreases, the instrument can be tested without recalibration.
For example, the Tri gloss meter is calibrated at 20°C, and the gloss of a tile is 17.3GU. When the temperature rises to 30°C, the tile is tested again. The instrument does not need to be calibrated, and the test data is still the same as 20. The test data is the same at ℃. However, for instruments without temperature compensation function, when the ambient temperature changes, it must be calibrated before each test before testing. Otherwise, the data of the same item tested in the environment of 20°C and 30°C will be different.
The Tri gloss meter can be calibrated once for a long time without having to calibrate every test, and this is its temperature compensation function.
